They served superbly delicious roast pork & grilled char siew in town. Not to mentioned their perfectly cooked rice & Hakka Noodle. And to go along with these main dishes are the nicely prepared green pickle chili & blended red chili paste. A well said phase to describe TnR "The Hidden Gems In PJ" I don't fancy pork until I've tasted TnR。。。 My family even went back the same day for dinner after our 1st tried during breakfast time! Trust me, you'll never regret for coming all the way to give it a bite My special note to Angie & Sean, 'well done'

Their cha siew is extremely good! Probably cos it's roasted in smaller strips as compared to other shops. Make sure to dip into the sweet sauce for yummier taste! However, for my next visit I will opt for rice instead of Hakka mee. The Hakka mee there somehow taste too dry for my liking

My sister's new local makan - she's chosen really well. Probably a good thing I don't live here too. We ordered a medium plate of char siew, a small plate of siew yuk, a hickory-smoked chicken leg, bowl of wanton (6 pieces), Hakka noodles (with pork mince), choy sum, and beansprouts between four. First off: the char siew is damn good. If I could make char siew this good I'd probably have heart disease aged 40. The pork they use has just the right amount of fat so that it's got a great glaze, but without being overly greasy. The outside has a great caramelised flavour and the texture is perfect. Honestly some of the best char siew I've had. The siew yuk was so-so in comparison - whilst the skin was crispy, the seasoning was a bit uneven and the cut wasn't quite fatty enough so it dried out a bit. It's ok, just a bit lifeless compared to the char siew. The smoked chicken is an odd one - the smoky taste is pretty strong and instantly reminded me of southern US cooking. It's tasty, but some may find it clashes with the rest of the food. I'm not particularly picky and somewhat unrefined, so I didn't mind at all. It's pretty decent, and I'd be interested to see what their normal gai fun chicken is like. The Hakka noodles are great: they have a good bite to them and a nice coating of pork fat. Also, they come topped with yummy crispy fish bits (don't be afraid to ask for more too) which add a nice bit of crunch. The other bits and bobs were all fine - good choy sum, and my lemongrass lime drink was nice (I find too much lemongrass can be a bit cloying, this one got it just right). Overall - go and get some char siew and Hakka noodle. They're excellent. It's not particularly cheap here though and the portions aren't huge. Still, I do think it's worth it, ultimately. Those two dishes really are excellent and well worth it, even with the hassle of parking etc.

Love their signature juicy char siew as well as the roasted chicken. My regular char siew place in PJ whenever I have the urge . The only problem is finding a parking lot and table especially during peak hours.

To be honest, I have never eaten here but I had their awesome char siew many many many times. Not only that, I am actually not a big fan of char siew but theirs just can't make me stop! Their char siew is just mouth watering, the meat is just so tender and once you put it in your mouth, it just melts away. I can feel my saliva flowing... And since I have moved to SS 2, Toast & Roast is only less than 5 minutes away! What a blessing eh? Most of the times, I would just have the char siew to be packed and eat it at home, this is because parking can be a pain. The area is quite tight and there's a lot of cars. Goodness. At the same time, their hakka mee is quite good too.

Toast & Roast is the name you will expect for well, toast, and not Hakka based cuisines, but because of that simple intentional mistake, their fame just rose even higher, propelling them into one of the better restaurants in Selangor. With their Hakka noodles being one of the must order dishes in this institution, their pork belly and roasted pork is well reputed for being much smokier and crunchier than their usual competitors. Along with their other obligatory non-swine products like steamed/smoked chicken, it seemed to me that this is the one stop place to go if you want to taste delicious chunks of well cooked meat. I, for one, liked this place pretty damn much. Loved it in fact. I am perhaps too much of a carnivore than anything else, but then again, as a Chinese, who isn't?

This hidden place serves one of the top char siew in my opinion. The juicy, sweet and melt in your mouth meat has won me over countless times. The place is packed during lunch time so be sure to head there early to secure your table and parking spot. The char siew also usually runs out quickly by 1.30pm. I usually opt for rice to go with my meat but do also give their famous hakka mee a try. This char siew is more sweet compared to the others thanks to the honey glaze so if you're looking for a smokier flavour, this won't be it. The pieces are also quite packed with fats so bear in mind there's no skinny meat available. The place has no AC so it can get quite hot in the afternoon.

I am all about the food and I do love their char siew and hakka noodle. Char siew is not usually served with noodle and I am glad they do because the noodle by itself is already delectable. Char siew and chicken is soft and full flavoured and the whole meal is delectable just judging it by their meal. Since they are really popular, the price is rather on the high side, with a meal costing about RM8 to RM14 with drinks and meat. The restaurant is always crowded and extremely warm and stuffy. After the whole meal you will feel very uncomfortable and sweaty which is the bad part of the place. I haven't even mention about the limited parking and seats they have which made us stand outside waiting with the warm weather for a while. Food is good I would say, for a price to pay though, and it's literally overpriced with too much hassle of finding a parking and seat. If I want to come here the next time I will reconsider.

Whenever the thought of this place comes into my mind. I could feel my mouth starts to salivate. Yes, I'm not kidding. This place serves one of the top roast pork that I know of in the whole Selangor. They literally would melt in your mouth. Anytime from their opening hours 9am till 11:45am is a lot less crowded and you could get a seat without any trouble. But if you miss the golden slot and arrived 12 onwards during week days, you are most likely subjected to horrendous parking spots and a queue for your seating. I wouldn't bother going to this place pass 2pm as most of the time, their famous roast pork will be out of stock. Be there early. Bring an empty stomach. Try their Hakka noodle roast pork combo with some pork belly or even a smoked chicken thigh if you like. This is definitely the place to go if you like roast pork! Just avoid Tuesday's as they are closed.
